Sublime Fall Days

A beautiful fall day, like today, is one of my definitions of sublime. Being from Vermont, fall is one of my favorite seasons. Days like today make me think of Stowe, Vermont. Beautiful fall scenery is everywhere in Vermont right now.

Stowe also has sublime food choices, all creating the conditions needed for a taste bud Nirvana. Try the dishes prepared at Gracie's, especially the Doggie Bag dessert. This is big enough for 2 or 3 to share so don't let the price dissuade you. I wish I had a picture, but trust me, this is worth it if you love chocolate! It is described on the menu this way-

Doggie Bag  $10.95
a white chocolate bag
filled with chocolate mint mousse
served on a bed of hot fudge

It even comes with a little cookie shaped like a dog biscuit!

There is so much to do in Vermont this time of year, all around the state. Visiting a cider mill, picking pumpkins, apple picking, bike riding around Lake Champlain, visiting Shelburne Museum, touring Ben and Jerry's , and watching street performers do their thing on Church Street Marketplace.

Sublime days.

Lake Champlain Chocolate Nirvana

Chocolate cows....who else but a Vermonter would create such things? And look at all the dark chocolate medallions! These are the best I have had. Ever. And dark chocolate is good for you, so go ahead and indulge when you are in Vermont.
